Following are some suggestions to help you calculate your required flow rates and tubing requirements:

200 litres per hour

3.33 litres per minute 3 minutes or 180 seconds to fill a 10 litre bucket

Recommended tube Ø12mm

‘Just a dribble’, ok for wall and table fountains

400 litres per hour

6.66 litres per minute

1 ½ minutes or 90 seconds to fill a 10 litre bucket

Recommended tube Ø12mm

A small flow – very gentle flow for cascades and small statuary

600 litres per hour

10 litres per minute

1 minute or 60 seconds to fill a 10 litre bucket

Recommended tube Ø12mm

Medium size flow – Ok for most statuary where splash is a problem

1000 litres per hour

16.7 litres per minute

36 seconds to fill a 10 litre bucket

Recommended tube Ø12mm

Standard flow for fibreglass cascades

Average flow for medium statuary and tiered fountains

1200 litres per hour

20 litres per minute

30 seconds o fill a 10 litre bucket

Minimum tube Ø16mm

A full flow for average cascades, average flow for streams etc

2000 litres per hour

33.3 litres per minute

18 seconds to fill a 10 litre bucket

Minimum tube Ø20mm

Good flow for larger statuary fountains or a medium stream

3000 litres per hour

50 litres per minute

12 seconds to fill a 10 litre bucket

Minimum tube Ø20mm – Recommended tube Ø25mm

Good flow for waterfall or larger stream

High flow for large ponds – Niagara Falls!

Excellent flow for large waterfalls and streams
